For nearly 40 years, my wife, Cindy, and I have always had a knack for entertaining people.We are happiest with a full house, good company,
and of course delicious food! Our love for barbecue in particular, was so strong, we actually created our own BBQ sauce recipe.
We would later find out this special sauce was a bigger hit than we could have imagined.

Life was moving fast as we started a family and continued on with our careers. We sort of lost track of the old recipe and didn’t think much of it.

After serving thirty years as a Law Enforcement Officer, I was proud of the work I accomplished and at the same time, looking forward to retirement. As luck would have it, I came across an old piece of yellow loose-leaf notebook paper while cleaning out my work desk and organizing files.
Sure enough, the BBQ sauce recipe Cindy and I created many years ago found its way back to the surface.

The type looked as if it came from an old “pick-n-peck” style typewriter. At the top of the page was written, “Finley’s Secret BBQ Sauce.” I remember Cindy and I making the sauce years ago for family and friends to try. Everyone loved it and would always come back for more. As a new retiree, I now had time to focus on making and sharing it again.  Word of mouth travels fast and we began receiving requests for our BBQ sauce from people we didn’t even know!

Due to the increased interest for our sauce, we began producing and bottling large amounts ourselves and selling it to family, friends,
and even several BBQ catering companies that still use our product today.

There is no doubt that finding the old piece of paper was a sign nudging us to pursue the dream we both shared earlier in life. That lucky
feeling of rediscovering this secret recipe was how our brand, Horseshoe BBQ was born and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
